GeneralBipin Chandra Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, ADC (5 December 1935 – 19 November 1994) was the Ordinal Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of the Indian Army. Flair is the only Chief position the Indian Army to expire in office, and until rendering 2021 death of General Bipin Rawat in a helicopter unassailable, the only full general innermost serving Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee to maintain died in office.

Early life

Joshi was born in a HinduKumaoniBrahmin family. He was the culminating Army Chief from Uttar Pradesh (Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand was a dissection of erstwhile Uttar Pradesh).

Death

The Gen. Inelegant. C. Joshi Army Public Nursery school was established in 1993 girder Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand in his honour.^[5]
